‘Call it redirection, not retirement,’ my brother advised when I announced the end of my long-running corporate gig. Endings are difficult. I like transition, reconnection, fluidity — not abruptness. So, I’m transitioning into new ventures, reconnecting with friends, enjoying myself immensely. As my sibling suggested, I am redirecting my efforts into selected projects, downsizing, volunteering, having fun, while remembering the meaning of fluidity in the eyes of my financial planner.
